With summer ending, barbecues and garden parties are out of the picture, so it’s time to start thinking of ways to entertain guests inside the house. Whether you prefer board games, party games or card games, one thing is sure – there are thousands of different ways of entertaining family and friends. Game tables are our favourite way to keep everyone on their toes (and have some fun along the way too!). I mean.. who doesn’t love a bit of healthy competition?
Whether you want to add something new to your home or have been dreaming about adding a game table to your games room, choosing the right one is never an easy task. Today, I’ve partnered up with Hamilton Billiards, a snooker table restorer and manufacturer, to share some of the most popular game tables available.
Snooker tables.
Snooker has been a popular game for centuries all across the world. From being played by amateurs in clubs and pubs to being played professionally by players from all nations, snooker is everywhere. So, why not add a snooker table to your home?
Not only is it a fun game to play but it also comes hand-in-hand with many benefits. As My Three and Me share playing snooker can help “develop concentration, focus and individual knowledge.” Snooker can benefit a person’s mental health and overall well-being.
Pool tables.
Similarly to snooker, pool is another great game that people of all ages can play. As Wannabe Princess comments, “pool is one of my favourite sports to play with friends and family on a night out. You can play while having a conversation and enjoying a drink.”
For many pool tables are a great option as they don’t have space for a full-size snooker table in their home. However, nowadays there are tables of all sizes to suit any room and even pool dining tables, also known as pool table dining tables, which are both pool tables and dining tables in one.
Air hockey tables.
Air hockey makes you move a bit faster than the other two options, being a great option for those looking for higher-intensity games when played at a fast tempo. Air hockey is great for improving reaction speed and concentration.
Table tennis tables.
Also known as Ping pong, table tennis is a great game for everyone, no matter their age. As this article on Metro explains, table tennis is more than just a bit of fun. “ The sport has all kinds of physical, cerebral and emotional benefits attached to it.” From improving reflexes and hand-eye coordination to stimulating different parts of the brain and developing mental acuity.
Foosball tables.
Foosball is great for those lacking space. Foosball tables are small in size and perfect for any room. As a sport and/or game, foosball is a great choice. It is both a mental game and a skill game that can be played by people of all ages.
No matter your favourite type of game table, all of these options are great ways to bond with family and friends after a Sunday lunch at your house. So, where will you put your game table?
