I often browse Olbra Hardware for new home hardware to add to my wishlist. You might do this with your favourite clothes website or website for beauty products, I do it for home ironmongery. But why do I like ironmongery this much? You might be asking. Glad you asked. Surprisingly, I have always found ironmongery quite fascinating. I remember being a young little me and thinking that door knockers were some of the best parts of front doors and would be fascinated by all different types of knockers that could be found around my neighbourhood, from unique lion’s head door knockers to simple ring door knockers.

Finishing touch to interior design.
I think that ironmongery is the perfect finishing touch when renovating and/or uplifting the look of any interior. As My Three and Me says, “Door handles and other hardware should be given enough attention as even though these are small details in the grand scheme of things, they will have a large impact on the overall look of a space.”
Essential for function.
I could go on and on about the beauty of door furniture and other ironmongery but it is also important to mention ironmongery’s first role: function. Without hinges, you wouldn’t be able to operate doors. Without locks, you wouldn’t have privacy and security. Without door stops, doors would swing into walls and damage them. Hardware is vital to the function of any space.
