The city break trend continues to grow.
With more places to visit and not enough holiday (talking from experience) a city break is the perfect way to explore a new place packed into a few days. Whether you’re looking for two days to relax (me, always) or to cram in as much as humanly possible into the two days. A City break is ideal. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy the nightlife or more of a sightseeing break. I’ve got 4 destinations for you to consider for your next city break. I’m currently filling my travel bucket list with some new places I must visit and I’d love to know where your favourite place for a weekend city break is.
Venice is one of those places you should visit at least once in your life. Full of good eats, artistic treasures and of course it’s home to the Grand Canal which is lush on a Gondala, not to mention romantic if that’s what you’re looking to get out of your next city break. Trip Savvy has an interesting read if you’re looking to find out more about what you can expect from a Gondola Ride. Whilst in Venice visit the Murano Glass Factory to experience something truly amazing.
In my opinion Glasgow is hugely underrated as a tourist destination. Full of beautiful architecture, fantastic food and it’s a shopping haven full of independent boutiques.
Known as one of the most vibrant cities in Europe thanks to their fantastic street art and Glasgow is hugely about it’s people. Thinking of heading off to Glasgow? We don’t blame you. If you’re looking to stay in Glasgow there are plenty of amazing places to choose from.
Dam is known for it’s museums and night life, whether you’re looking to visit for a stag do or a weekend away. You’re bound to find something awesome to do. From the infamous red light district to The Van Gogh Museum alongside Rijksmuseum and the Sex Museum are hugely popular.
If you’re visiting more for the nightlife, Amsterdam has 4 different districts and dependent on what you’re looking for, you’ll find something you enjoy!
Known as the capital of cool by the residents of Germany. Hamburg can often be overlooked when it comes to visiting Germany. However, it has a reputation for being one of the best places for nightlife in Europe. If not the best. Hamburg Tourisms advises that 5 of the best places to visit are PAL for the techno scene, so secretive there are actually no pictures of the inside. Then there is the Donner Bar which is full of head-bangers, Molotow for the Indie crowd, Golden Cut is filled with the most affluent party animals. Finally, Nikki Tiger which is a stylish bar, which is actually Japan-inspired.
Whether you’re looking to find somewhere cool to hang out for the evening or head to most alternative clubs in the city, you’ll be spoilt for choice. After partying the night away, Hamburg has some lovely places to stay from 5* star hotels to budget motels.
