For The Icing (optional)

  • 15 g Water

Instructions

For The Cupcakes

  • Start by weighing out all of your ingredients and then pour the partially melted butter and sugar into a bowl and mix together.
  • Next whisk your eggs and vanilla extract into the mixture.
  • Sift your flour and cocoa powder through your sieve into the mixture and stir in.
  • Split the mix into 12 cases and put to bake for 25 minutes
  • Once your timer is up, take your cakes out of the oven and poke them with a cocktail stick or fork, if it comes out clean then your cakes are ready. Then leave them to cool.
  • When cooled, scoop out the middle section of the cake, ready for the buttercream filling.

For The Decoration

  • First you will need to mix your butter, milk and icing sugar together, I prefer to do this by hand to make sure it's fluffy and soft. Once this result is achieved, follow the next step.
  • Next add your green food colouring to the mixture and slowly add in until you're happy with the green, I went for a more vibrant green. as contrasted against the brown it looked more bold.
  • Fill your piping bag with the icing and pipe inside the cakes. Followed by adding a range of treats on top as well as sprinkling the remaining cake on the top lightly.
  • For the final step I made up my icing using the icing sugar and water, then added black food colouring and stir through. To complete my cakes as I drizzled some icing over the top to give it that extra spooky finish.
